Selection for this award is based on the student’s academic record (minimum GPA of 2.5),leadership involvement, quality of the application essay, as well as the student’s ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic background. Many recipients are North American ethnic minority students, but some awards may also be given to other students from the U.S. demonstrating ethnic and cultural sensitivity.
Application Procedures and Deadline
Students interested in being considered for the Multicultural Scholarship should have their application for acceptance and this completed application form (with accompanying typed essay) submitted by January 13th to receive priority consideration.
1.Which factors, events or circumstances from your life experience do you feel qualify you as a candidate for the Multicultural Scholarship? How have these experiences enhanced your cultural awareness and affected your outlook on faith and life? Please include specific examples of leadership roles and involvements in your own neighborhood, school, church and community.
2.In what ways might your potential leadership and participation in the Kuyper College community (i.e. academics, residence life, student organizations, etc.) help build cultural awareness and encourage broader understanding of different peoples and cultures on campus?
